So, since it's going to be awhile until we are blessed with Baby Graves, but we are already deep into converting the room that housed Louis and Desmond into the nursery. Yes, Desi and Louie had their own room - which was originally my office and which was "given" to the dogs when I rented my new office space in January.
This WAS my office...

And, the trainwreck that it is now...

Long gone are the dogs cages, and any semblance of the old office, and all of the holes have been patched from what I had hanging on the walls. However, we are a long way from doing anything aside from the closet:

Not the best picture, but the inside of the closet was an absolute trainwreck. Crumbling plaster, missing plaster from taking the closet organizer because the previous owner had a love affair with glue, and a fluorescent light that makes it appear as if it's an interrogation cage.
My first thought was to fix all of the plaster and get it looking presentable. That decision quickly left my brain, as I am far too anal retentive to not do it correctly. So I decided I would drywall the inside of the closet. But, then I started thinking about how it would have to be taped and mudded, and screwed, and would just generally be a pain in the ass, so I started brainstorming again...
I ended up deciding that I could use 1/4" plywood. It would basically be a veneer for the walls and would allow for a nice clean look, and give some aid in adding shelfs as well, as the screws would have something better to catch to instead of the plaster.
A couple sheets, a nail gun and compressor, some glue, and some sweat produced a far better look than before:

All of the nail holes were patched with wood putty and sanded down. The wood frame is for a changing table that will sit there, and a dresser (the beautiful blue one you see above) is going to get re-painted and will slide in under that.
I primed the birch plywood, and it's starting to really take shape:

Not looking too shabby and ten thousand percent better than what was there...but nowhere near complete. Luckily I have 6 months to go...
